In this latest installment of a series on criminal psychology, Dr. Christopher Kurtz provides a window to the violent and depraved world of serial rapists and murderers. This unit examines the crimes, motivations and lifestyles of sexual predators, chronicling five notorious killers: Jeffrey Dahmer, Randy Kraft, Eugene Britt, John Normal Collins, and Arthur Shawcross. The class will include homework projects in which students will have an opportunity to develop their criminal profiling abilities.
Curriculum: Five week course. For the Spring 2004 session, the course will be led by Dr. Kurtz, who will hold occasional class discussions online. After the Spring 2004 session, the course will be offered from time to time as an independent study module.
