Just look for these symbols on message posts: Most forums now support "live HTML" (for example, you can make text bold or underlined using standard tags. This feature is turned off on the following forums where instructors must type code examples for students to read: html101, perl, webcafe, javascript, and css. HTML tags typed on these boards will display as ASCII text. In all forums except those just mentioned, you can include hyperlinks in your messages by using an anchor tag (such as <a href="http://ksurf.net/">KSurf Home Page</a>) or you can simply type the URL http://ksurf.net/ and it will be converted to a link by the forum software. Likewise, to display a GIF or JPG image in your message, you can use an img tag (<img src="http://ksurf.net/image.jpg">) or you can just type the image url http://ksurf.net/image.jpg and it will convert automatically. You can view and also reply to archived messages. A reply will be threaded under the parent message on the archived page. Keep messages cordial and on topic so these forums can be enjoyed by all! |
